Ingredients for 7 people:
For the stuffing:
450 g ground meat
2 onions minced
30 g of butter
2 tablespoons of oil
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
3 tablespoons chopped coriander
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ginger
1/2 teaspoon sweet pepper (paprika)
1 teaspoon of Tandoori spices (optional)
Salt and pepper
1 egg
4 square cheese spreads (optional)
For folding:
7 large sheets of filo pastry
80 g of Smen or butter
Preparation:
In a frying pan over low heat, melt the butter with the oil and brown the chopped onion. Add the minced meat, spices, salt and pepper and stir until the meat is cooked and the liquid is completely absorbed. Remove from heat then add the coriander and chopped parsley, egg beaten omelette and cheese cut into small pieces, let cool.
Melt the 50 g butter.
Unroll the filo leaves, taking care to keep them under a clean cloth to prevent them from drying out.
On the worktop, place a sheet of filo fold in half lengthwise.
Place along the edge of the filo leaf 2 to 2.5 cm stuffing. Roll the pastilla leaf around the stuffing to get a long pudding. Wrap Mhancha's pudding on itself to give it a snail shape.
Repeat to get 7 Mhancha. Place the Mhancha on a baking dish lined with baking paper, brush with smen, or melted butter.
Cook the Mhanche in a preheated oven at 374 ° f for about 20 to 25 minutes until they turn a nice golden color.
Serve the Mhancha plain or decorated with flaked almonds, icing sugar, and cinnamon.
