Banana bread is one of the most popular sweetbreads in the United States. A moist and soft bread, spices are often added to it to improve its taste. It is quick to make and you can make several variations: with chocolate chips, nuts, raisins… This banana bread can be kept cool for two or three days, it can also be frozen for a longer period.

for me I love fruitcakes! In this recipe, the banana brings a fruity note and pleasant humidity. What then, cake or bread? Answer: banana bread is sweet like cake.

Baking time: approx. 50 mins

110g butter, soft

200g sugar

3 ripe bananas (approx. 360 g), sliced

200g flour

1 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp baking soda or 2 tsp baking powder

0.5 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla sugar

1.5 dl of milk or 150 g of fresh cream

2 eggs

How it's made:

Work the butter and sugar with the beaters or the whisks of the food processor until the mass whitens. Add banana slices, mix well.

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and vanilla sugar, incorporate them into the mixture. Incorporate the milk and the eggs, pour the batter into the lined mold.

Cooking time: approx. 50 min in the middle of the oven preheated to 320° F. Remove, let cool slightly, unmold, let cool on a wire rack.

Additional Information

Mold: For a cake mold of approx. 30 cm, lined with baking paper.

Storage: Approx. 3 days in the fridge, wrapped in cling film.
