List of ingredients

For almond shortbread dough

250 g of soft butter

2 eggs

500 g flour


80 g of almond powder

50 g of normal sugar

100 g icing sugar

For garnish

6 beautiful Golden apples

2 eggs

50 g brown sugar

almond powder, flaked almonds


2 tbsp. thick cream

Steps in the recipe

Preheat your oven to 356 ° F.
Prepare the dough 2 hours in advance. Mix the butter, sugar, and icing sugar
Add the almond powder, then the eggs, and finally the flour and salt. Mix until you have a ball of dough.

 Cover with cling film and put 2 hours in the fridge  Divide the dough into 2 (you have enough to make 2 pies and can freeze a portion of dough for later ...) and spread on a floured worktop. 
Place in a buttered and floured pie pan.

Prepare the almond cream:

mix the brown sugar with the eggs, add the vanilla, the almond powder, and the cream
Arrange the peeled apples and cut in large quarters at the bottom of the pie, cover them with the almond cream and sprinkle with flaked almonds, finally bake for 45 minutes at 356 ° F.
Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
